IN HINDSIGHT.

Saturday morning, I went out to Oakland to learn how to make my mom's famous salsa. After a few hours of boiling, peeling, chopping, mixing, more boiling, canning, and lid popping - three mason jars full of fresh salsa got to come back to Omaha with me. Ask me in a couple of weeks how much of that remains. Thanks for the lesson, momma. Now I'm wifeable!

Lauren was back in town this weekend - so the COTC went out to celebrate on Saturday. Kylie's birthday is this week, so we figured we would do her birthday dinner while Lauren was back. We ate at Twisted Fork downtown, surprised her with an ice cream cake, and then headed to Old Dundee Bar for a few pitchers - where we ended up singing "Never Ever" by All Saints at the top of our lungs while we collected stares. A few strangers even joined in on the fun.

I spent the majority of Sunday helping Otte photograph families. She's a busy lady these days (holiday peak time for photographers), so it was good to get to hang out for a while. If you haven't seen her photography yet - go check it out. She's amazing with kiddos and I learn more and more from her every time I tag along on shoots. Here's my favorite shot of hers...

Looking forward to working the Matt & Kim show this week and hopefully hearing back about a second interview for a job I'd love to have! Fingers crossed.

-k.
