PLAYING INTERIOR DECORATOR.

Since I have all of this free time on my hands, Otte enlisted me as an interior decorator for her bedroom makeover. I've got loads and loads of interior decorating experience, of course. *Shakes head* Here's the color palette we came up with.

For the past couple of weeks, every time I've driven by Jim's Seek & Save on Leavenworth, I've lusted after this vintage desk that was sitting outside. Each time, I'd think "How has someone not bought that yet?" and "Please hold out for me until I have the money for you, precious beauty." I even called Jim to discuss pricing. He drives a hard bargain.

Back to the matter at hand, Otte's bedroom renovation. She ended up buying the desk I was lusting after and it will be the first piece out of many that she's trusting me to refinish. She plans to use it as a vanity, and I think it will be an absolutely perfect match.

I could almost hear my heart breaking in half as I sanded the finish off of this piece. It was in pretty bad shape with nicks and scratches and wood breaking off in more places than desirable. As much as I didn't want to paint over this beautiful wood, it was something that just had to be done. Otte decided on the grey color shown below for the vanity makeover.

I'm currently waiting for the first coat to dry before I slap a second coat on. It's looking real nice. Can't wait to see the finished product!

-k.
